The brief
An offline-first Android app for hourly workers: log a shift in two taps, see the gross pay before payday, export a timesheet a payroll office will accept.
What we actually did
Built the entire app offline-first on Room, with sync as an optional paid tier rather than a requirement.
Modelled the messy parts properly: split shifts, night differentials, unpaid breaks and four overtime rule sets.
Passed Play data-safety review first time by keeping analytics out of the free tier entirely.
Shipped CSV and PDF timesheet export that survived testing with three payroll providers.
